In case you missed the Apple Event last Tuesday, September 15, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the launch of their newest products.


Included in the list is the launch of iOS 14, the newest iPhone operating software that launched the following day. iOS 14 has new features including a new way to organize your home screen, widgets, security enhancements, and more.


Apple also announced the following products and services:


  1. Apple Watch Series 6

The Apple Watch Series 6 will now be able to monitor users’ blood oxygen levels and will let you take a measurement in 15 seconds. Series 6 heavily emphasizes on its health and fitness aspects, which are beneficial to saving lives and keeping users active. The watch will also come in the colours blue and red for the first time ever.


  1. Apple Watch SE

Similar to the SE versions of the iPhones, the Apple Watch SE is a less expensive version of the Apple Watch and starts at $279. The Apple Watch SE comes in both cellular and wi-fi connectivity models and highlights a new feature, the Family Setup, which allows children and older adults to use the Apple Watch without an iPhone.


  1. New 8th Generation iPad

The 8th Generation iPad is Apple’s most affordable iPad and has a faster A12 Bionic chip, as well as an optional rugged case for schools. It is compatible with the Apple Pencil and starts at $329.


  1. New iPad Air

The iPad Air got an update, with a new design featuring smaller bezels and a screen that stretches from edge to edge. The new Air looks quite similar to the recent iPad Pro and will include a “next generation” touch ID fingerprint sensor inside the tablet’s power button. It will be equipped with an A14 processor which is 40% faster and comes in 5 gorgeous colours: rose gold, silver, space gray, green and blue. Retail starts at $599 and will be available in stores by October.


  1. Fitness + workout services

Apple’s fitness and workout services allow Apple Watch users to connect with trainers and access access a catalog of workout videos on iPhones, iPads or Apple TV, which are all synced to an Apple Watch. New workout videos will be available weekly, and users can view live stats from an Apple Watch, iPad or iPhone while working out.


  1. Apple One service bundles

Apple also announced its services bundle called the Apple One, which comes in three tiers with various services per tier.

  • Individual tier includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud storage for $14.95/month.
  • Family tier includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud storage for up to five family members for $19.95/month.
  • Premier tier includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud storage, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+ for $29.95/month.


The much-awaited iPhone 12 was notably absent from the announcements and will most likely be introduced in another Apple Event next month.
