The most recent Apple event unveiled the latest offerings from Apple, including the highly coveted and much-awaited iPhone 12. The new iPhone 12 will be 5G-enabled and is arguably the most shock-resistant iPhone ever.
The iPhone 12 will be equipped with a fast new processing chip, an upgraded display and the most shatter-resistant front screen of any iPhone to date. Dubbed the Ceramic Shield, the new front screen is tougher than any smartphone glass on the market and performs four times better than its predecessors.
The Apple Event also unveiled that the iPhone 12 will come with another size option: the iPhone 12 mini. The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 mini are water resistant up to six metres for up to 30 minutes and are protected against liquid spills. In support of Apple’s net zero climate impact goals by 2030, the iPhone 12s will use entirely recycled rare earth elements in its magnets, including the new camera and charger. EarPods and power adaptors will also be removed from iPhone packaging, making it lighter and smaller, and will allow for 70% more boxes to be shipped at once, removing carbon emissions equivalent to 450,000 cars on the road annually.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available to purchase October 23 and November 13, respectively.
