Sustainability is the name of the game. Italian luxury brand, Prada, has strengthened its commitment to sustainability with the launch of a line of men’s and women’s apparel made out of the nylon textile that elevated the Italian fashion house from its origins of leather goods and handbags.
To say that the line was a success, is an understatement. The use of the uncommon material for the first time in Prada’s goods catapulted the brand to what it is today and nylon cemented its place in the brand’s aesthetic DNA, as well as the fashion industry.
In homage to that critical success, Prada introduced Re-Nylon, a collection of goods made from nylon first introduced years ago — only better, more innovative and more sustainable.
Prada Re-Nylon is entirely and meticulously crafted from a regenerated nylon created through the recycling and purification of plastic collected from oceans, fishing nets, landfills and textile fibre waste from all around the world. The textile is undoubtedly the next step in fabric technology and sustainable luxury, with endless possibilities that can be regenerated without losing its quality, style and sense of luxury.
Recently, Prada extended its sustainable line that now features men’s and women’s apparel including boots, hats, and sneakers, to name a few. These will join the current collection of luxe back packs, cross body bags and belt bags that have all been transformed with sustainable Re-Nylon.
