SUMMER LUXURY RESTAURANTS

April 29, 2022

WHAT WILL YOU BE TRYING OUT?

As the weather warms up, and we rush towards the night life in the city, what better way to return to normal life than picking new luxury restaurants to visit?

With the help of a few websites, I’ve come up with the master list for you foodies! I’m so excited for days off because that means I get to indulge with my loved ones on days where the city is screaming in colour, and the summer heat is at its ultimate!

  • Scaramouche Restaurant

You’ll taste contemporary Canadian cuisine with ingredients from as far as British Columbia and Nova Scotia. The menu changes seasonally, but signature dishes include sustainably raised caviar and buckwheat blini. Try their coconut cream pie, which features a butter shell filled with coconut custard whipped cream.

  • Alo

Chef Patrick Kriss’ culinary pedigree includes stints working under Daniel Boulud and Régis Marcon. Expect to be greeted with expert service, artful plating and worldly creations such as buttery foie gras.

  • Sushi Kaji

The quality and precision at Sushi Kaji is comparable to what you’d find in Tokyo. The decor is minimal, with the sushi bar and blond wood counter acting as audience seating. There is no à la carte menu – you simply trust the chef to guide you on your tasting journey.

  • Jacobs and Co. Steakhouse

Chef Danny McCallum traverses the globe seeking out the finest cuts of beef. Every cut of steak on the menu comes with an elaborate backstory. The seafood tower features an ocean’s worth of lobster, raw oysters, mussels, king crab and more.

  • The Chase

The Chase is a former protégé of Michelin-star chef Daniel Boulud. Opulent fare with an emphasis on sustainable seafood and plant-based options. Most popular dishes include roasted halibut with creamer potatoes in tarragon butter and beech mushroom sauce.

  • Canoe Restaurant and Bar

Canoe Restaurant and Bar is located on the 54th floor of the Toronto Dominion Centre building. Chef John Horne has worked at Michelin-star restaurants such as L’Escargot and Orrey. Dishes include miso-glazed venison tartare with coffee crumbs, black pudding and foie parfait.
