Ryan Reynolds and Remington Group are teaming up to purchase the Ottawa Senators and build a new arena in LeBreton Flats.
Remington Group is leading the bid to purchase the Ottawa Senators, and if the deal goes through, Reynolds will be the face of the team. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman wants Reynolds involved in whoever purchases the team, as he believes Reynolds's high celebrity profile would bring good publicity and help increase their notoriety. Reynolds is also planning to create a series surrounding the purchase of the team and the construction of the new stadium, similar to "Welcome to Wrexham" on Disney Plus.
Reynolds is facing competition from Toronto billionaires Jeffrey and Michael Kimel, who are expected to buy the team for upwards of $800 million.
